Appendix III.2. Ditele

A romanza entitled “Ditele” is frequently mentioned in lists of Puccini’s works and for a long time was thought to be composed by Puccini. Michael Kaye, however, proved that this is an error and the song was actually composed by the Russian princess Yelizaveta Vasilevna Kochubei (1822-1897); see Kaye 1987, 225-27.
