2 autograph manuscript fascicles, unsigned and undated, in Puccini’s hand, containing 14 + 6 pages of music with 10 staves per page. 97 bars of music: "Qui tollis", 4/4, D minor; "Qui sedes", 3/4, F major.
I fascicle: Full score, with p. 1 bearing the heading “Qui tollis / Duetto”, the names of the instrumental parts (“Trombone 1°”, “Trombone 2”, and “Organo”), and the tempo indication “Largo”. The vocal parts begin on the second system of p. 6 (b. 32), with no indication of register, clefs, or key signature; from the context, it can be inferred that they are to be read in the tenor and bass clefs. From the same system to the end, the organ part is written on a single stave, limited to the lower notes.
II fascicle: Organ part, with p. 1 bearing the heading “Qui tollis / Duetto / Organo” and the tempo indication “Largo”. On p. 5, bars 74-79 are written as a figured bass.
